Imagine a future city through the eyes of Emma.

Emma begins her day outside the city and drives to a mobility hub, where she seamlessly switches from private car to public transport. She travels to a hospital appointment, using connected digital services that combine mobility and healthcare. Throughout the city, intelligent transport systems, autonomous public transport and smart infrastructure help residents, visitors and special user groups move safely and efficiently. After her appointment, Emma explores the city’s attractions and services, supported by digital tools that make discovering and experiencing the city easier than ever.

Behind this seemingly simple journey lies a network of innovations, data, services and collaboration.

The SmartRail#3 project has developed and tested solutions that support the future of sustainable urban mobility, including simulation and decision-support tools, digital identity and wallet solutions, connected mobility services, autonomous transport technologies, guidance solutions for special user groups, digital accessibility solutions and data-driven mobility ecosystems. These developments aim to make it easier for people to move, access services and experience the city while supporting more sustainable alternatives to private car use.
